Khalsa Family Farms is a 501(c)3 non-profit operating in Espanola, NM, USA providing high quality organic produce, Ayurvedic and native medicinal plants, & flowers grown on the farmland and in an 12,500 ft2 geothermal greenhouse for local use, sale, and donation to the broader northern New Mexico community.
Khalsa Family Farms is using advanced (and ancient) technologies of geothermal insulation, climate battery operations, and solar power. We have built a 6000 gallon aquaponic pond with koi fish for leafy green crops, producing high nutrient density crop yields in a short amount of time. We have designed a 4 season program for our communities climate battery operated greenhouse that includes plans for integrated pest management, fast crop rotation, and reduced water usage systems. Photo voltaic-powered air circulation will keep the facility cool in the summer and warm in the winter, maintaining optimal sub tropical growing environments year round.
