Reunity Resources

Reunity Resources began in 2011 as a community-supported experiment with a grand vision to create closed loop systems that turn waste into value.

They began with a small biodiesel program, collecting used cooking oil from a few local restaurants, converting it into fuel and re-distributing it. They expanded their network and grew operations to include food waste diversion. Working with the City of Santa Fe, they launched a commercial food scraps collection program using the Aerated Static Pile system to efficiently create a premium soil amendment. Through their work, over 5 million pounds of food scraps have been diverted from the landfill (where it would create toxic methane), and they have used those food scraps to create a rich, fertile soil amendment that retains moisture, nurtures the soil of farms and gardens, and contributes to a carbon sequestration cycle which REVERSES CLIMATE CHANGE by removing carbon from the atmosphere!

In January 2015, Reunity Resources signed a lease with the Santa Fe Community Farm, operating on an unused and non-arable acre of land. Part of their agreement was to donate compost to the farm which then donates the food it grows to local food banks and other organizations addressing hunger. In 2018, the Santa Fe Community Farm closed its doors, and in 2019, Reunity Resources took over. It is now called Reunity Farm and is expanding its community programming and re-invigorating the land with regenerative agriculture.

Reunity Farm grows vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers. Each year they donate 10,000 pounds of produce to community hunger efforts. They also host field trips, have many volunteer opportunities, and will be hosting workshops and cooking classes. AND…beginning in June 2019, they also will sell produce at a farm stand at the farm, open Saturdays from 10am-3pm and Tuesdays from 3-7pm.
