We raise Tibetan Bison (a.k.a. yak) and cattle on our ranches in Chama, New Mexico. These ranches have been in Lisa’s family for over 100 years. Our livestock are very, very good at what they do. They turn lush Chama mountain grasses and other plants that we humans can’t digest into delicious protein and nutrient filled meat that we enjoy. At The Chama Valley Meat Co our role is to help our livestock do the voodoo that they do so well. We work to keep our prices down, but our practices do not fit into an industrial food chain that can produce billions of $0.99 burgers. But that’s not our goal. We want to raise meat that tastes great in the mouth and feels good to the soul.
